Hi everybody, I'd like to share a webpage which I think is fun and could help us to improve our language and cheer up our mood. It has lots of common expressions and interesting words. If you think your life sucks sometimes, you should visit fmylife to show you that there is always someone else who's life sucks even more. There are also some illustrated fmylife if you just like to read things with drawings on it.

Today James showed you one of the online corpora... the COCA at BYU in Utah.
These corpora were created by Mark Davies, Professor of Linguistics at Brigham Young University. They have many different uses, including: finding out how native speakers actually speak and write; looking at language variation and change; finding the frequency of words, phrases, and collocates; and designing authentic language teaching materials and resources.

The Video of the Week: Microlending in the USA
Hi everybody!
This video has nothing to do with a cartoon. I don’t know if you already heard about microlending. It’s a small loan reserved to poor people, for them to start small businesses and get out of poverty. Mohamed Yunus has invented it 25 years ago and found the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh to provide this loans. This bank received a great success across the country and even all over the world. Recently a similar bank was created by in NYC. If you want to go further into this kind of loan I have to advice you www.babyloan.org . This awesome website allowed you to support microlending all over the world.
See you

Good ways to lose time
Oh hi !
I had no idea about clever video with good expression in it ; but i can definitely show you how to lose time.
You may know this one : The horribly slow murderer with the extremely inefficient weapon (~10 min long) You will never see the kitchen club the same way (Sorry Maude if this makes some people run away ^^).
An other famous video with a ventriloquist (ok ok it's an old one)
If you prefer to read useless things, i hope you know your classics :
Failure : http://failblog.org
Quote : http://bash.org
And finally something you MUST try, it's an interactive movie on youtube : you make your decision and choose how the movie continue
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p1yBlV7Ges
It's funny and with zombies, what else can someone expect ?

Video of the week: Tex Avery's Cartoon
Hi everybody!
For my first video, I decided to share with you (how lucky you are!) a cartoon of my favorite animator. I'm sure you already heard of him. He's American, he's the father of Droopy, the Wolf, and many others... I'm talking about Tex Avery. This cartoon is for from being the most well known but I found it really representative of the humor and drawing of Tex Avery, and perfect also for an English class. You just have to push play to learn thousands of expressions.
Enjoy it
Symphony in slang-1951 by Tex Avery
See you
